iCity : The City of Light
During the recent Eid’ul Adha celebration (the Muslim holy day of sacrifice), some of my relatives came over to spend the holiday with us. They were so overwhelmed with the new tourist icon in town, the iCity; thanks to the widely-spread-free-publicity made by bloggers and facebook aficionados. Imploring me to show the way, and since I also have never been to the place (even though being near to my in-laws I’ve passed by it a few times) I decided to satisfy their desire and add up my blog to the free-publicity statistics.
So, on the fateful evening of 19 Nov 2010, I quickly wrapped up my work and headed to my parents house in Kajang to fetch my aunties, uncles and cousins alike. It started to drizzle on my way back home, fortunately the rain stopped when we made our way to the iCity. The fluctuating weather actually made me slightly nervous, but we still proceed with the plan as my relatives will be leaving the day after.

iCity is actually a new cyber township located at Section 7, Shah Alam Selangor just after the Sg. Rasah tol exit. It comprises of office suites and shopping complex, fully equipped with the state-of-the-art communication and IT technology. The masterplan incorporated the cyberhub idea, which will accomodates data center, virtual office, smart school, etc. The development is still in progress; most of the units are still vacant.

But it is the city lightscape that is luring people like us; like flies attracted to lights. The city is adorned with millions of colourful LEDs and installed in many shapes and sizes; tree, animals, lantern etc.

Playing with light. Try to copycat my favourite painter Yusof Ghani masterpiece in just seconds. LOL.
Lights in Bokeh
Starry, starry night…

Glittering deers
Surreal looking trees

Acha asked me to buy her new hairband. How can I say no? They are so cute!

Since Acha managed to get herself 'something', I've got to get Ahnaf's as well. Otherwise, the WWIII will start sooner than predicted. This is actually the gizmo I got for him (I don't know what it is called). It produces circular motion lights when swirled.

The same thing taken in slow-mo. Nice effect it produces. Perhaps can be used for my photo experiment later.. hehe

Regrettably, my worst fear was actually coming true. It suddenly rain cats and dogs! This image was taken while taking refuge in one of the vacant shoplots.

The rain did not seem want to stop, so with hesitation we leaved the crime scene. The place is definitely worth a come back!
The End.
p/s: The gizmo I bought for Ahnaf broke the next day. That’s the end of my photo-light experiment.
