About
My name is Niza and this is my travel journal. I’m just a simple person trying to live my dream of seeing the world. Most of the time I was accompanied by my ever dearest travel buddy – my husband, DH and sometimes the kids got to tag along (that, when mommy and daddy have extra budget * wink*).
My penchant for travel and adventure was inspired by all the books that I read when I was still a kid, and an atlas as big as me (well, I was 9 at that time) that my dad brought back home one day. I could sit for hours marveling at the colorful patches of countries and territories on the world map, the geographical forms of the land and the sea – they never failed to amaze me.
As a kid (and still am) I always curious about the world’s wonders and yearn to see for myself those jaw-dropping landscapes; the mesmerizing views of the sun as it rises and sets on different parts of the world, the smell of flowers I’ve never seen, the sounds of life and the mood it brings, the looks of people in faraway land and to interact with them, the taste of their food, their history, languages and cultures, what they wear, their faiths and believes that make them so different from us, and yet we are all the same – human.
At 15 I got my first camera; it was on roll-film at that time and I think (if I remember correctly) the brand was Yashica – hence the start of another passion of mine. Like travel, it captures the essence of life - emotions and moments; and serves as a reminder of all those wonderful experiences in many years to come.
I hope you would enjoy reading my journal – Simply Travelling, cause that is what I do. I simply travel for travel’s sake. I used to believe that journey, not destination that matters. But later I learned that it was us that define the depth and meaning of those journeys. What it makes us. The ramblings and photos are my perception about people, places and things that I meet and see on my spasmodic meanders. They are my life gurus. They teach me the true meaning of gratitude and happiness, and show me how beautiful life is all about in many different ways – sometimes in the smallest and the simplest of thing.
I sought the world, and I found myself.
